R#2 Digital sjangerlek på nye læringsarenaer
By Öystein Gilje (oystein.gilje@uv.uio.no)
Mzoon is a permanent on-line workshop for youngsters (2000-2004), which has been evaluated the last year (2004-2005). Broadly speaking the report Digital Sjangerlek på Nye Læringsarenaer [Playing with new genres in a digital learning environment] shows four different aspects of the e-learning resource:
- The on-line workshop never managed to create a community with participants who used the web-site as an e-learning resource. The arena where the users could publish ‘mediatexts’ (videos, film-reviews and so on) were never ‘personalised’.
- Teachers had a crucial role when it comes to introducing the web-site for the pupils. The evaluation shows that the teachers only used some parts of the e-learning resource in their lessons in Media Education.
- The activity on the Web-site increased with approximately 50 % when the Norwegian Filminstitute arranged different kinds of on-line workshops and competitions on the Web-site.
- The combination of an on-line workshop and a real workshop with professional filmmakers was undoubtedly the best way to increase the media-literacy of the participants.
The book is published by Forsknings- og kompetansenettverk for IT i utdanning, Universitetet i Oslo.
